Dr Gabrielle Brawn

Dr Gabrielle Brawn holds a Bachelor of Science – Psychology (Honours) and a Doctor of Psychology (Clinical Neuropsychology) from Macquarie University.
While working as a Clinical Neuropsychologist she completed a Master of Special Education degree to further extend her knowledge regarding the best interventions and supports for children who experience learning difficulties.
Dr Brawn has extensive experience in helping families understand their child’s cognitive and academic functioning through comprehensive assessment. She is passionate about her work in developing evidence-based recommendations to support children who are struggling at school.
For the past 12 years Dr Brawn has worked as a paediatric clinical neuropsychologist at Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick. Since 2013 she has worked within the Learning Difficulties Assessment Clinic, working with children experiencing difficulties with reading, writing, numeracy and/or attention problems. She also currently works with the Rehabilitation department, providing neuropsychological assessments for children with acquired/traumatic brain injuries and cerebral palsy. She has previously worked with the neurology team, seeing children with neurological conditions.
Dr Brawn provides supervision to trainee neuropsychologists and has delivered training sessions and guest lectures at Macquarie University, University of NSW and Charles Sturt University.
Prior to becoming a psychologist, Dr Brawn worked as a research assistant at the MultiLit Research Unit and as a primary school literacy support assistant.
