Simone Wright

Simone Wright is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD). Simone was awarded an academic scholarship to study Dietetics at the University of Wollongong and graduated with First Class Honours in 2003. Since graduating Simone has been working in public teaching hospitals across Sydney consulting to medical teams and clients.
Simone is currently working for NSW Health as a Senior Dietitian and has a special interest in optimising nutrition in children diagnosed with developmental disabilities. Simone consults on a Gastroenterology Clinic and a Complex Feeding Clinic. Simone also has extensive clinical experience in the areas of Neurology and Endocrinology and has completed the Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education and Management.
Simone has completed the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) approach to feeding course. This training integrates sensory, motor, behavioural/learning, medical and nutritional factors to comprehensively evaluate and manage children with feeding difficulties and growth concerns. Simone is currently involved in a multicentre research project Supporting Children with Complex Feeding Difficulties (SuCCEED) https://childfeeding.org. The purpose of this research is to raise awareness and improve the outcomes of children with complex feeding issues.
Simone has written publications for the Dietetics Association of Australia on Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition and has published in the Journal of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (JPEN). She is also the author of the Agency for Clinical Innovations (ACI) Fact Sheet on Healthy Eating for individuals with spinal cord injury.
