Dr Nicky Gluckman

Dr Nicky Gluckman

Clinical Psychologist

BPsych(Hons), DClinPsych

Dr Nicky Gluckman is a warm and compassionate Psychologist with experience working in both the UK and Australia. She has supported people across a wide range of services — including child and adolescent mental health (CAMHS), support for young people with long-term medical conditions, adult and older adult mental health, and early intervention services for refugee families. She has worked in both private practice and not-for-profit organisations, always with a focus on delivering thoughtful and person-centred care.

Nicky completed her Bachelor of Psychology with Honours at the University of Sydney and holds a Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of East London (UK). She has a strong foundation in evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches and works flexibly and thoughtfully to meet each person’s needs, drawing on a range of therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy, systemic and family-based approaches, psychodynamic models, structural dissociation theory, and Method of Levels (MOL).

Her experience ranges across the lifespan — from early childhood to older adulthood — with specialisations in working with trauma, neurodevelopmental conditions (such as autism and ADHD), and emotional difficulties linked to physical health conditions. Nicky also has extensive experience supporting children, young people, and families in navigating challenges related to behaviour, anxiety, low mood, and other difficulties (including grief and loss, trauma, social skills).

She provides specialised assessments for a range of developmental and emotional concerns, including specific learning disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and ADHD presentations. Her clinical work includes individual and family interventions, always guided by the values of collaboration, respect, neuroaffiming care and cultural sensitivity.

Nicky has published research in peer-reviewed journals on topics such as child development, early intervention in refugee mental health, online therapy for young people, and the adaptation of mental health services during the COVID-19 pandemic. She brings this up-to-date knowledge into her clinical work to ensure she is offering the most informed and effective support.

Throughout her career, Nicky has remained deeply committed to placing the voices of clients and families at the centre of care. She takes an intersectional approach to her work, with experience supporting people from a variety of diverse backgrounds, including refugee, multicultural and multilingual families, the LGBTQIA+ community, and those living with disabilities and chronic illness. She believes strongly in creating a safe, supportive space where people feel seen, understood, and empowered to move forward.
