Kate Phillips
MClinPsych PhD MAPS
Kate is a Registered Psychologist and Clinical Psychology Registrar. She recently completed her PhD at the University of New South Wales where she studied the impact of medical adversity on childhood brain and emotional development.
Kate has worked within the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network as part of a multidisciplinary team assessing developmental difficulties and delays. She is experienced in the use of assessments such as the WISC, WPPSI, WIAT, ADOS and Griffiths. Kate enjoys working with children and young people and helping to bring out their best during testing. She works from a neurodivergent-affirming and strength-based approach. She is passionate about finding ways to support children to thrive in their environment.
In addition to her work at Developmental Paediatrics, Kate is a Clinical Facilitator and Clinician at headspace Camperdown. In this role, she works with young people aged 12-25 years to support their mental health. She has published peer-reviewed research about autism, congenital heart disease, and brain imaging.
