Dietetics

At Developmental Paediatrics we believe that optimal nutrition is fundamental to children’s growth, development and wellbeing. Our dietitians are experienced in working with families to develop a nutrition plan that is practical, evidence-based and tailored to children’s unique needs.

As children grow and develop, so do their nutritional requirements. Our dietitians, Sandy Heymann and Leah Vandervliet are experts in the nutritional requirements of children of all ages, from babies to teenagers. Their approach is based on fresh, wholesome and nutritious food. They understand the challenges parents face in feeding their children, particularly when children have specialised dietary requirements due to allergies or other health conditions.

With over 20 years of combined experience in dealing with these issues, they seek to empower, educate and counsel families to help reach their nutrition goals and represent a vital element of our healthcare team.

Our services include:

  • Fussy or selective eating
  • Feeding difficulties
  • Weight management
  • Growth faltering
  • Food allergies and intolerances
  • Vegetarian diets
  • General healthy eating
  • Iron deficiency
