In addition to his clinical and consulting roles with Developmental Paediatrics, David has been Emeritus Consultant in Adolescent Medicine at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and an Adjunct Professor with the University of Sydney. He established Australia’s first hospital-based adolescent unit at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children in 1977 and developed innovative community-based services for young people at risk, advocating strongly for the health and medical care of children at this formative stage of life.
David has published extensively in his field including I just want you to be happy: Preventing and tackling teenage depression. He is Past President of the Association for the Wellbeing of Children in Healthcare, Australian and International Associations for Adolescent Health and, until 2017, served as Senior Clinical Adviser in Adolescent Health and Wellbeing to NSW Health.
