
Mikayla has recently completed her Master of Professional Psychology and is on her way to full General Registration. She is experienced in the use of psychometric assessments, to identify the academic and IQ performance and concerns in children and adolescents. She has experience working with neurodivergent children and adolescents and employs a neuro-affirming and strength-based approach to her clinical work. She has special interest in neuro-affirming approaches to testing and therapy, as she completed her thesis on adapted CBT for children with autism. She is passionate about finding ways to support patient’s emotional growth and wellbeing as she undertakes her 5+1 internship at Developmental Paediatrics.
Mikayla has the goal of working at Developmental Paediatrics in the future as a well-rounded clinical psychologist offering assessments and therapy to children and young people with behavioural, mood and learning concerns.
