Mikayla has extensive experience in the administration and interpretation of psychometric assessments, including cognitive, academic, and behavioural measures, to identify learning profiles, intellectual functioning, and areas of concern. She has extensive experience working with neurodivergent children and adolescents and adopts a neuro-affirming, strengths-based person centred approach in all aspects of her practice.
Alongside her work in the school setting, Mikayla’s clinical work at Developmental Paediatrics includes comprehensive psychological and psychometric assessments and providing evidence-based therapy for children, adolescents, and their families. She supports clients presenting with a range of developmental, behavioural, learning, and emotional concerns, working collaboratively with schools, medical practitioners, and allied health professionals to achieve meaningful outcomes.
She has a particular interest in neuro-affirming assessment and therapeutic approaches, reflected in her master’s research, which focused on adapted Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for children with autism. Mikayla is passionate about supporting the emotional growth, resilience, and wellbeing of young people and is committed to helping children and families achieve meaningful and positive outcomes.
